Epik High - One

If you ever get a chance to read this Lars, my eyes hurt from reading your poorly colour coded blog + small font. I am sure you would care less but be a good friend and do something about it, someday.

I had a small talk with my instructors today and was praised for producing the most intelligent piece of writing up to date. I am not good with words, and never will be, so it did came as a pleasant surprise. Presentation is next week and I have nothing done. I want to make a hole on the wall with my head.

Epik High + Monkey Majik

I haven't listen to Epik High for quite a while. I use to be fairly obsessed with them, blasting their songs in our school studio while everyone is trying to study. My friend would laugh at my "korean rap", but hey! they are cool.

"Fan" - Epik High
As it title says, is about a fangirl who loves the singer so much that she holds him captive and then designs a rocket where she can send the singer into the stars. Morbid but it is one of the most inventive story I have watch about a fan... (the other one being "Stan")

"Love Love Love" - Epik High + ???
Although the melody is rather lighthearted, the song is about breakup/unrequited love/generally being in love.

"Free Love" - Epic High
:) their music makes me happy and they are too cute.

Epik High's music and videos are quite interesting mostly violent, give them a try if you can. I love how each of the video have a story of its own...it doesn't help that the girls are really cute. I can't help but not hate the girl in the "fan" video. She looks so innocent while blowing up the singer.

....uhh lets have some happy music!!! MONKEY MAJIK YEAHH!!! ♥

what is not to love about this band? Their music always vacuums me out of where I am and then spits my soul into a summer day by the lake :)

baby ducks + fashion.

It really saddens me to see this news of baby ducks being fed garbage and die as a result of choking/toxic/etc. It is no one's fault but our own; the mothers feed the baby ducks in what they think is food.

In another news, I entered YFF's wardrobe contest. I did not win of course (I am not that cool yet!!) but I was featured on top 10! That is an honour itself because I never consider myself a good stylist.

I need to post some more photos in regards to fashion, just a bit shy about styling that is. But if you noticed, I placed a few of my new crochet scarf works. I need to set up an etsy soon for those.

5 songs around the world!

History, art, culture and music are my core. I am broad with my music choices but I am also strict with ones I deemed timeless. I am attracted to songs that have a spec of cultural influence in them. Here I present you all 5 songs with a tinge of ethnic touch to it. I hope you all like it.

1) Ireland-Siuil a run - Celtic Woman
A traditional Irish song about a girl's love going off to war. Celtic music has always been my first love in ethnic music. I remember telling one of my underclassman about my love for Irish music and I go horribly teased about it. They would either just ignore me or look at me funny when i declare I love celtic music. Whyyyy....?!

2) Japan - By the River - Yoshida Brothers
One of my favourite Japanese band. Most of their songs are quite upbeat but this is one of their softer ones :) I love the sounds of Shamisen ♥ it is so crisp and clean.

3) China - Qing Hua Ci - Jay Chou
"Qing Hua Ci" is a traditional pottery that became popular during the Ming/Qing dynasty. Even though I speak the language, I have no idea what the lyrics mean. It is written in Chinese poetry...might as well call it ancient text because it sounds like that to me. Despite all the complexity and confusion, the tune and lyrics are perfect together :3

4) Korea - The one he missed, he longed to touch again -Kim Joon Sun
The song is from the movie BiChunMoo, which is a historical film set in ancient Korea. I have no idea what the song is talking about but I figure it might be the typical love story. I saw the film few years back and the only thing that made an impression for me is this song.

5) India - Maar Dala -Kavita Subramaniam
...I love this song for the choreography. It is from a famous bollywood movie name Devdas. A while back, I almost took up Indian dancing because of this video.

Extra** China - White Moonlight - Jeff Chang
I have a strong feeling that this song is a tribute to a very famous ancient poem by Lee Bai the one he wrote while drunk. The translated lyrics only helps me in my prediction.

Yes, I do love R&B, Pop, Rap, Classics, etc, etc those are flings but These songs are my timeless love :) I know I cheated with the last one, but it has a lot of meaning :O!

Engrish makes me happy

I love Engrish Though if you are not familiar with Chinese, you might not understand why they translated it into what they are. It is still extremely funny reading all of this. Some are them are just funny English, like the pocket knife saying "please keep OUT of children". I hope they do too..

Some Eco-Friendly projects for my reference. I especially love the "hamster powered cell phone charger". I kind of wish my hamster is still with me. Most of them are funny to read about but I might consider the floppy bag :)

Dear Leonardo, have you heard of kurumarete by kokia?

Have you ever heard of Kokia before? I first encountered her CD when I was still in high school. I cannot remember how I got acquainted with her music but I just remember liking her voice.

Though it has been years since it closed down, I can still remember the small CD shop that was in our local mall. It was jam packed with Chinese drama on one side, and CD on another. The carpet was stone coloured and rough; I would always shuffle my feet along with it. The owner would always make small talks with my mother while I wander about the store, looking but never buying.

Back then, $20 for a CD was considered expensive for me. Or was it $30? The CD sat on the shelf for years, I did not doubt that it was still there when the store closed down. I never did get the chance to buy the CD. If I ever see it again, I might buy it for old time's sake.

Now years later, I am sitting here listening to her new song. It is funny how music can provoke such nostalgia.

Shhh.

Sleepyhead

This was taken few years ago, at least 3 I would reckon since I did not have my dslr back then. My friends and I visited our local aquarium for the day.

I just remember I have to attend a party tomorrow. I better start making something to wear to it.

(or, what not to do, underline any that currently apply)

1)Constantly Compare yourself to other artists.
2)Talk to your family about what you do and expect them to cheer you on.
3) Base the success of your entire career on one project.
4)Stick with what you know.
5)undervalue your expertise
6)Let money dictate what you do.
7)Bow to societal pressures.
8)Only do work that your family would love.
9) Do whatever the client/customer/gallery owner/patron/investor asks.
10)Set unachievable/overwhelming goals to be accomplished by tomorrow.

This was posted on the bathroom wall. Number 10 sounds like my life. I laughed. I did this while I was suppose to be doing my report. I am having A.D.D as one of my friend mentioned as I stick the paper back to the bathroom door.

14 blades.

I swear that this will be my last post but the trailer for 14 blades just came out on sina. I am so excited in seeing this film! the music! the costumes! the history! the tattoos!!! The story should set in the Ming dynasty.

If anyone is interested in historical Chinese films, then they will enjoy this. I have always had a thing for action film set in ancient china. If you do not want to wait, you can watch Red Cliff and get a taste of what a good ancient china action film is like.

moon river

One of my all time favourite song. Every time i listen to this i am reminded of my seven year old self, back in halifax. I would be dancing in my beloved patch work night gown in the pristine white kitchen on a sunday afternoon. Oh yes, the song would be playing from cassette tape too.

Oh Andy Williams, you are so amazing even at the age of 78. I'll try to post a song every second day :3

marriage

"Marriage is like putting your hand into a bag of snakes in the hope of pulling out an eel."
Leonardo da Vinci

I lolzed. oh leonardo how i ♥ you.

505 my love!

I am made up of art, photography, fashion, music and love!
a mix bag of everything together and shaken into one- incoherent and spontaneous.
